Roy Rogers 1950s Owned & Worn Tooled Leather Cowboy Boots

$5,000.00

These 12" high tooled cowboy boots have Roy Rogers in silver writing on the pull straps on both boots. They were made by Charlie Garrison, who made all of Roy's boots with carved eagles. These black boots have gold stitching with turquoise & green tooled inserts on the eagles & turquoise tooled stars around the tops. Roy had these boots re-soled and new heels put on a long time ago. The interiors and insoles are also worn. They were acquired at Pope's Roy Rogers & Dale Evans auction at the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum in Victorville, CA. There is an advertising paper included from Pope's Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Auction in 2003, stating that they sold the boots. Add these boots to your Roy Rogers or celebrity clothing collection. This is one of the 5 original pairs of boots Roy used extensively way back in the 1940's & 50's. This was one of Roy's favorite pairs of boots back when he was doing rodeos and making public appearances. The inside of the pulls have the Roy Rogers signature sewn in with white thread and the pulls & the tops of the boots have gold piping going around them. There is a COA from Flip Side Auction Company and a Life magazine showing his favorite pairs of cowboy boots from his early career. This is when his favorite design on his boots was the eagles with the stars. You will see that this pair is in the middle of the row of boots lying on the ground under a row of his Nudie outfits. Don't let these get away as you can see in the photo in the July 12, 1943 Life magazine these were one of the 3 pairs of his boots with the tooled inlaid eagles and stars. The boots also have a sewn design in the top of the toes. The magazine is included with the boots & it remains in very good to excellent condition. This magazine tells Roy's entire life starting with him growing up in Portsmouth,Ohio and the article ends with Roy and his first family and his career up to the time of this 1943 magazine. Don't miss adding these boots to your Roy Rogers clothing collection, as they matched many of the outfits that he wore. These boots remain in excellent condition & still have a really nice shine to them, despite the fact that they were heavily worn. Roy had many pairs of boots & these have to be one of the most desirable pairs to own and have on display in your collection. I was looking over the results of the last auction when Trigger was sold and I see where one of these other early pair of Roy's boots sold for over $21,000 and the magazine also went for $1300.00. COA & LOA included.
