1945 Annie Oakley's Hometown Commemorative Wooden Nickel Set

This set of five 2" wooden nickels was issued to commemorate the 150th anniversary (sesqui-centennial) of the 1795 Greenville Treaty. This treaty ended the Northwest Indian War, in which the Western Confederacy (an Indian coalition) traded large parts of Ohio & the future sites of Chicago & Fort Detroit for $20,000 in trade goods. General Mad Anthony Wayne represented the US government. The wooden nickels were circulated in Greenville, Ohio & Darke County as legal tender. This rare set remains in excellent condition & would make an unusual addition to a collection of wooden nickels or Indian treaty memorabilia. Don't pass these by as this is a very rare set to acquire & it comes with the paper telling of them. You may never see these again.
