1918 Summit Beach Amusement Park Souvenir Folder Of 16 Views

This is a vintage 3" x 32" folder of views from Summit Beach Park, an amusement park which operated near Akron, Ohio from 1917-1959. There are 16 3" x 4" views. The folder is undated, but automobiles pictured date the pictures to the 1910s.

Views include: roller rink, dance pavilion, midway, amusement park rides, shady side, boat house, picnic grounds, Ford row, parking space, bathers (men & women in bathing suits), canoehouse, the whip, the motor-drome, canoe landing, & interior of the dancing pavilion

Each of the views has a small hole in the margin of the narrow end, so we assume that this folder originally was held together with a ribbon, which is missing, and if there was originally a cover it's also gone.

Summit Beach Park was opened to compete with Euclid Beach Park, Chippewa Lake, & Meyers Lake and its architecture was similar to Cleveland's Luna Park. At its height of popularity the park entertained 8,000-9,000 patrons on Saturdays & Sundays.

The folder shows light shelf soiling on the first & last views but is otherwise undamaged. Great 1910s views of this defunct amusement park
