1963 Scopitone Coin-Op Music Video Machine With 36 Movies

This is a 1963 Scopitone coin-operated Model ST36 which was made in France. It comes with thirty-six 16 mm music video movies which could be selected & played for 25-cents each. This was one of the very first video machines (serial #3401. The machine & screen remain in excellent condition. We have been told by different people that this is the nicest screen they have seen, as it really is just beautiful. We have also been told by other collectors that only a hand full of these made were the chrome and tile art deco type. Nothing dresses up a room like chrome. The ones made in the U.S. were wooden and did not have the great eye appeal. If you have a 1950's art deco room in your house then this is for you as it will make a great addition. People's eyes really light up when they see this. This Scopitone plays, but it needs minor work done to it. We were playing it 15 years ago when I brought it into the mall, as it had been gone over by an excellent repair man who is no longer with us. I haven't tried to play it since. It has just been sitting here in a climate controlled building. The films all seem to be in really good condition as none appear to be cracking or splitting. The finish & the chrome are in excellent shiny condition. Sold as is, as we cannot warrant it. Local pickup only as it weighs around 900 lbs. #2390
