1939 Scarf--Omaha's Golden Spike Days--Union Pacific Movie/Rodeo

This 20" square silk scarf reads Golden Spike Days Omaha & Made in USA. Golden Spike Days was held from April 26-29, 1939 to celebrate the world premiere of Cecil B. DeMille's movie, Union Pacific. It was held in Omaha (Union Pacific's headquarters) & featured parades, celebrations, & the movie premiere and ended up with the rodeo. Citizens dressed in period costumes & many men grew beards & mustaches. The scarf's center image shows a rodeo with a bull rider & bronc rider. Borders show brands, steer roping, spurs, saddles, pistols, cowboy boots, steer heads, fenced steers, branding irons, campfires, oxen-drawn covered wagon being stalked by indians, an indian village with teepee, & indian pottery. This very rare silk scarf remains in excellent condition & would make a great addition to a collection of items from Omaha,Golden Spike railroad, western, movie or Rodeo scarf collection. This is the first we have seen any items especially a rodeo scrarf form the Golden Spike Days Rodeo. This has to be a rare item and very desirable due to all the different collectable items this represents. Another rarety of this scarf is the fact that are the different colors were all hand tinted, there couldn't have been many of these done this way. This is a great western item to put into your collection. It should be framed and put in one of the museums in Omaha.
