Atlantic City Turn Of The Century 50 Photos In Seashell Souvenir

This is a mailer that was to be sent as a souvenir item from Atlantic City in the early 1900s. It has the original mailer that says Atlantic City N.J. In A Seashell. It consists of a 2" diameter seashell hooked onto the mailing label with a very old thin red ribbon and hooked onto the other end of the red ribbon is a accordion-type collection of 50 mini real photo postcards. The photos are 3/4" x 1 3/16" long and are still intact and are all together as they make a long continual string such as shown in our photo. When totally unfolded, the string of photos is around 3' long. These photos show all the early scenes from Atlantic City from the Boardwalk and all the early tourist attractions. There also is scenes from the first Coast Guard, which was formed in Atlantic City. What a great piece of history this is! The mailing tag on the one end has been repaired with scotch tape. Other than that, everything here remains in excellent condition. There are no rips or tears in the photos. The seashell is in excellent condition, as are the photos. If you collect Atlantic City items this has to be a very rare and scarce item which you may never have the chance to purchase again. Add this to your early postcard collection or to early collectable items from Atlantic City. This is a great historical item from Atlantic City.
