1925 East Palestine Ohio Stereotypic Minstrel Show Program

This is the program from the Minstrel Revue held at the Liberty Theatre in East Palestine OH under the auspices of the George F McBane Post No 31 of the American Legion on March 5-6 1925. It was presented by the John B Rogers Producing Company and rehearsed/staged by Lawrence B Drinard. The 6" x 9" program has 16 pages. One of the acts was "circus day in dixie" with characters such as Aunt Jemima, the plantation girls, the plantation boys + a character who was "too dark for light work". The program includes local advertising, including an ad for the Turkey Run Inn which shows a frightened stereotypical black man being chased by a turkey. The cover shows soiling & wear. If you collect Black Americana memorabilia, items from minstrel shows, politically incorrect items, black stereotypic items, or items from East Palestine OH this would make a fine addition to your collection.
